How this list was compiled

A list of 106 tree team names written by Wheel of Teams on 2026-10-03 and filed in five groups: well-known trees, root, branch and leaf puns, forest and grove names, lumberjack and logger teams, and names for an Arbor Day or tree planting crew. Every name carries a tree word. The names are our own suggestions; none was taken from a professional, college or school team, a book, a film or a company, and any match is a coincidence. There is no axe in any name. The tree and logging words were looked up on 2026-10-03 in four English Wikipedia articles, text under CC BY-SA 4.0: Tree (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree), List of tree genera (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tree_genera), Glossary of botanical terms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_botanical_terms) and Lumberjack (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumberjack). Under 23 names a line names the tree; each line follows the opening of that tree's own English Wikipedia article (for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequoia_sempervirens, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginkgo_biloba and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banyan), read the same day. Compared by script the same day with every other list on this site: no name is repeated. Nothing was checked against a trademark register. Licence: own work
