This random NFL team generator is an NFL wheel with all 32 teams of the 2026 season on it, 16 from the AFC and 16 from the NFC. Press Spin the wheel and it lands on one team, each with a 1 in 32 chance. Chips narrow it to one conference, or to one division of four.

The Houston Texans, the league's 32nd team in 2002, are as likely as the Chicago Bears or Arizona Cardinals, the two founding members of 1920 still in the league.

Filter to the AFC, the NFC or one division

AFC or NFC leaves 16 teams, which makes this a random AFC team generator too. A division chip leaves four, for example the NFC North: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. Division rivals meet twice a season, 6 of the 17 games. Why does the NFL wheel put both New York teams in New Jersey?

'Plays in' on the result card is the town of the home stadium. The Giants and Jets share one in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and the Rams and Chargers share one in Inglewood, California. The Cowboys play in Arlington, Texas, and the Commanders in Landover, Maryland.

Which teams are on the wheel?

The 32 member clubs for the 2026 season, checked against nfl.com/teams and the league's Wikipedia article on 18 September 2026. Names follow current usage, such as Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders.
