This superhero team name generator draws from 110 names we wrote ourselves, in four sets: hero teams, villain groups, teams named for a power, and friendly names for kids and classrooms. None borrows a comic book team.

Name a hero team or a villain group
Press the button for five names, or choose a set from the menu first: pick villain groups and every draw is a gang of bad guys. Tap a name you like and lock it, and the next draw changes only the other four.
What a team name says
Heroes take words of guarding and light: sentinel, beacon, vanguard, dawn. Villains take shadow, rust, spite and a secret club. A power name tells readers what the team does before they meet it, as Gravity Guild does.
Tips
- Writing a story? Give the villain group a name that sounds harmless, like Plot Twist Partners. It makes the reveal land.
Questions and answers
What is a good superhero team name?
Short, easy to shout, and built on what the team protects or can do: Skyward Sentinels, The Beacon Brigade and Frost Force all work. Two words starting with the same letter are easy to remember.
Can this be a villain team name generator?
Yes. Choose Villain groups in the menu and every draw comes from 30 names for bad guys, such as The Midnight Cabal, The Gloom Guild and The Spite Club.
Are there superhero team names for kids?
Yes: 25 friendly names for a class, a camp group or a birthday party, such as Homework Heroes, Recess Rescuers and The Kindness Crew.
