How it works

Team names by color: each press draws five names from ten lists, one for every shirt color from red to maroon. Choose a color in the menu to draw from that list alone.

Ten colors, one draw

The pool holds 847 names: 86 red, 81 orange, 86 yellow, 90 green, 87 blue, 85 purple, 86 pink, 85 gray, 83 gold and 78 maroon. Gray holds the silver names, and blue holds navy and light blue.

Color war team name ideas

For a color war or a field day, choose one color in the menu and draw for that team, then the next. Every name carries its color, a shade of it or a thing of that color, so two teams cannot draw the same name.

Questions and answers

What are good color group names?

Give each group a name from its own color: Crimson Kites for red, Cobalt Current for blue, Emerald Cut for green, Singing Canaries for yellow. These are names for groups that wear a color, not names for families of colors such as warm and cool.

Do the names suit any sport?

Yes. The lists hold shades, things and sayings only, with no set for one sport, so a name suits soccer, softball or kickball and a field day or color war team alike.

What are fun color team names?

Maroon Bassoons, Orange You Glad We Came, Dijon Vu, Tutu Much Fun and Taken for Granite are five, one each from maroon, orange, yellow, pink and gray. Every color list has a set of jokes.

Which shirt colors have a list?

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, gray, gold and maroon. Black, white and brown have no list. Teal names are among the blue ones, silver among the gray and burgundy among the maroon.
