How this list was compiled

A list of 100 jewel and gemstone team names written by Wheel of Teams on 2026-10-03 and filed in four groups: well-known gems, sparkle, facet and shine puns, birthstone teams by month, and rock and mineral club names. Every name carries a stone or a word of the jeweler's bench. The names are our own suggestions; none was taken from a jeweler, a cartoon, a game, a song or a team, and any match is a coincidence. The gem words were looked up on 2026-10-03 in three English Wikipedia articles, text under CC BY-SA 4.0: Gemstone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemstone), List of gemstones by species (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gemstones_by_species) and Birthstone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthstone). Under 42 names a line names the stone or its month; a stone's line follows the opening of its own English Wikipedia article (for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opal and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turquoise) and a month follows the modern list in the Birthstone article, read the same day. Compared by script the same day with every other list on this site: no name is repeated. Nothing was checked against a trademark register. Licence: own work
