How this list was compiled

A list of 97 jungle team names written by Wheel of Teams on 2026-10-03 and filed in five groups: vine, canopy and river puns, jungle animals, safari teams, explorers and expeditions, and names for a classroom or camp jungle week. Every name carries a word of the jungle, the rainforest or a safari. The names are our own suggestions; none was taken from a film, a book, a song, a game or a team, and any match is a coincidence. The jungle, rainforest and safari words were looked up on 2026-10-03 in four English Wikipedia articles, text under CC BY-SA 4.0: Jungle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle), Rainforest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainforest), Safari (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safari) and Serengeti (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serengeti). Under 17 names a line says which animal it is; each line follows the opening of that animal's own English Wikipedia article (for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okapi and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capybara), read the same day. Compared by script the same day with every other list on this site: no name is repeated. Nothing was checked against a trademark register. Licence: own work
