    How it works

This party games spin the wheel picker holds 100 games that need nothing bought, in five groups by how the room is set. Each card gives one line on how to play. A played game leaves the wheel.

Match the wheel to the room

Open the Show only menu. Classic party games suit a cleared floor and some music. At a table needs paper, pencils, a deck of cards or a die. Up and moving is for indoors, Outdoors is for a yard with chalk and a ball, and Pairs and teams splits the room in two.

    What the games use

Paper, pencils, chairs, music, a ball, chalk, a coin and a rolled-up sock cover most games. The whole list is printed under the wheel, so you can read it before the guests arrive.

    Questions and answers

What party games need no equipment?

Simon says, four corners, the minister's cat, twenty questions, fizz buzz, red light green light and shadow tag need nothing at all. Many others need only paper, a pencil, chairs or music.

Is there a spin the wheel party game to play by itself?

Yes, the challenge wheel. Each spin gives one quick task, such as stacking cups against the clock. This page does a different job: it picks which game the whole room plays next.

Which party games work for a big group?

Musical chairs, musical statues, four corners, heads or tails and the captain's coming take as many players as the room holds. Everyone plays at once, and players drop out round by round.

Are there dares or forfeits on the wheel?

No. No game on it is a dare, a forfeit or a prank, nothing is eaten, and no game has players holding or tagging each other. In shadow tag the chaser steps on a shadow.

How this list was compiled: An original list of 100 party games in five groups of 20, written for this site on 2026-10-01 in our own words, with no outside list copied. Every game uses things most homes have: paper, pencils, chairs, music, a ball, chalk, a coin, a deck of cards, a die or a rolled-up sock. None is a dare, a forfeit or a prank, nothing is eaten, and no game has players holding or tagging one another. No boxed, branded or television game is named. 46 of the games are traditional, and their rules were checked on 2026-10-01 against the game's English Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_chairs, /wiki/Musical_statues, /wiki/Pass_the_parcel, /wiki/Pin_the_tail_on_the_donkey, /wiki/Simon_Says, /wiki/Hot_potato, /wiki/Four_corners_(game), /wiki/Hunt_the_thimble, /wiki/Kim's_Game, /wiki/Telephone_game, /wiki/Follow_the_leader_(game), /wiki/Hokey_Cokey, /wiki/Twenty_questions, /wiki/The_Minister's_Cat, /wiki/Tic-tac-toe, /wiki/Dots_and_boxes, /wiki/Consequences_(game), /wiki/Categories_(game), /wiki/Bulls_and_cows, /wiki/Sprouts_(game), /wiki/Ghost_(game), /wiki/Fictionary, /wiki/Beetle_(game), /wiki/Pig_(dice_game), /wiki/Snap_(card_game), /wiki/Go_Fish, /wiki/Crazy_Eights, /wiki/Concentration_(card_game), /wiki/Word_chain, /wiki/Nim, /wiki/Fizz_buzz, /wiki/Fruit_Basket_Turnover, /wiki/Statues_(game), /wiki/Mother_may_I?, /wiki/Zip_(game), /wiki/Paper_plane, /wiki/Hopscotch, /wiki/Hide-and-seek, /wiki/Four_square, /wiki/Keep_away, /wiki/Scavenger_hunt, /wiki/Bowls, /wiki/Skipping_rope, /wiki/Charades, /wiki/Celebrity_(game), /wiki/Spelling_bee.
