Random team colors, three at a press
The button draws from the whole list. To stay with one main color, open the menu under the button: Red, Orange, Yellow and gold, Green, Blue, Purple, Black and gray, or Pink and teal.
Pairs people ask for
Orange holds the orange and blue team colors, Green the green and orange team colors and Purple the purple and orange team colors, each in several shade pairings. For team colors black and gold, open Black and gray.
The line under each name
The first color is the shirt. The numbers take the second color when the pair meets the W3C contrast figure for large type on a screen; when it does not, the numbers go white, black or to a third color and the second color becomes trim.
- The list is not tied to a sport: softball team colors, basketball team colors and a quiz team's colors are chosen the same way.
- Hex codes are screen colors. Fabric and ink differ.
- Add #purple to the page address and the list opens on the purple team colors.
Questions and answers
What are the best team color combinations?
This page does not rank them. Each line was worked out with the W3C contrast formula for large type on a screen; navy and gold or black and white score high on it.
Is this a random football team colors generator?
It works as one: each press draws three combinations at random, for a football team or any other. The list is for a new team's shirts and names no real team.
How many team color ideas are on the list?
There are 120 sports team color combinations in eight groups of fifteen, by main color. Most pair two colors and five add a third. The whole list is printed under the tool.
Can I use these as sports team color schemes for a logo?
The page gives colors and hex codes, not a logo. Copy the list takes the names and codes of the combinations shown, to paste into a message for a designer or a shirt printer. No team is named here.
Where do the hex codes come from?
Each color is a named color of the W3C CSS color standard, so its name and code are the ones every browser uses. Navy is #000080 and Gold is #FFD700.
