8 Team Snake Draft Order: Your 15 Picks From Any Slot: how it works
In an 8 team snake draft order the turn comes around quickly: at most 14 picks pass between turns. Tap your slot to see only your picks out of the 120 made in 15 rounds, the count that fills fantasy football's default roster. Slots still to hand out? The draft order wheel does it in eight spins.
How the snake draft order for 8 teams runs: add 16
Round 1 runs slot 1 to 8 and round 2 comes straight back, so slot 8 drafts 8 and 9 while slot 1 sits from 1 until 16. The pattern then repeats every two rounds, which is 16 picks. Take your first two numbers and keep adding 16: slot 3 drafts 3 and 14, then 19 and 30, then 35 and 46. Slots 4 and 5 never sit through more than 8 picks.
Reading a 12 team cheat sheet in an 8 team league
If your rankings print 12 team rounds, go by overall number here. Pick 49 opens round 5 of a 12 team draft but round 7 of this one, and this chart's last round, picks 113 to 120, is only round 10 over there. - Drew slot 8? You open with 8 and 9, then 24 and 25. Mark those four lines on your rankings first.
- Over 15 rounds slot 8 makes the final pick, 120. Set 16 rounds and the last word passes to slot 1 at 128.

Questions and answers
How do I work out my picks in an 8 team snake draft?
Your first two picks add up to 17, and every later pair is those two plus 16, 32, 48 and so on. Slot 6 drafts 6 and 11, then 22 and 27, then 38 and 43. The rule for other league sizes is on the snake draft order page.
What does third-round reversal do with 8 teams?
Round 3 repeats the direction of round 2, so slot 8 opens it at pick 17 and slot 1 waits until 24. From there slot 1 drafts 24, 25, 40 and 41, the same numbers slot 8 holds in a standard snake. Flip the switch to compare the two.
Is eight teams too few for a snake draft?
No. The first fantasy football league, which held its first draft in 1963, had eight members. Fewer teams means stronger rosters: 120 players go in 15 rounds against 180 in a 12 team league.
