Samurai words in the names
Hatamoto Guard is named for the hatamoto, a high-ranking samurai in the shogun's direct service. A kabuto, as in Kabuto Crew, is the helmet of samurai armour, and the tenshu of Tenshu Watch is the highest tower of a Japanese castle. Long vowel marks are left off, as in the English spellings bushido, daimyo and dojo.
What the history says
The samurai were the warrior class of pre-industrial Japan and served their lords as retainers. Archery and horsemanship were among their main skills, hence Horse and Bow Company. They also studied literature and calligraphy, the idea behind Calligraphy and Steel and Brush and Banner Samurai.
