A short list, and what is on it

Many E sports are a form of a bigger one. Eight-ball and English billiards are cue sports, épée is one of fencing's three weapons, eight-man football is a smaller gridiron game, and Eton fives derives from fives. Ecua-volley is a variant of volleyball invented in Ecuador.

Equestrianism and the horse sports

Equestrianism is on the list as an everyday name, outside the count of 16. Its line points to five horse sports: eventing and endurance riding here under E, dressage under D, show jumping under S and reining under R. Equestrian vaulting, gymnastics on a cantering horse, is counted.
