Print the slips
Press Print bout sheets for two three-period slips on one page of Letter or A4, with a line to cut along. The Sheet menu has four to a page, a two-period slip and a bout list for one mat.
Fill in a slip
The head table writes the bout number, mat, weight class, round and both names, and the slip goes to the mat. The scorer writes each period's points in its box, then Total, Winner, Win by and Time.
The Win by line
Every sheet prints its key: F fall, TF technical fall, MD major decision, D decision, DEF default, DQ disqualification, FF forfeit. On the two-period slip INJ injury replaces MD. No point values are printed, because rule books differ by level: follow your event's.
- The bout list is for one mat's table: 20 numbered rows in running order, each with a box to tick when the bout is over.
- In the print window, Copies prints a day's supply: 20 copies of the opening sheet are 40 slips.
Questions and answers
What is a bout sheet in wrestling?
A slip of paper for one bout. It carries the bout number, mat, weight class, round and both wrestlers to the scorer's table, and comes back with the points by period, the winner and the way the bout was won.
What do F, TF and MD mean on a bout sheet?
They are short forms from this sheet's key for the ways a bout is won. F is a fall, also called a pin, TF a technical fall, MD a major decision, D a decision, DEF a default, DQ a disqualification and FF a forfeit.
Why are the rows named Red and Green?
In high school and college wrestling in the United States, each wrestler may wear a red or a green ankle band, and the referee uses the colors to signal points. The two-period slip has Red and Blue, the two singlet colors of freestyle.
Is there a wrestling bout sheet for tournaments in freestyle or Greco-Roman?
Yes, the two-period slip. Freestyle and Greco-Roman bouts are wrestled in two periods; high school and college bouts have three, with overtime if the score is tied.
