Make the bracket
Type your teams best first: the first line is Seed 1. Set Teams to any number from 3 to 128. Tap a team to send it through. Leave the names out to print a blank sheet.
Sizes listed on this page
Every game of the 8 team bracket and of the 4 and 6 team double elimination brackets is listed under the tool, in playing order. Single elimination sizes have pages of their own: the 3 team, 4 team, 5 team, 7 team, 9 team, 11 team, 13 team, 20 team and 24 team bracket, with more under tournament brackets. So do the 3 team, 7 team, 12 team, 13 team, 14 team, 15 team and 16 team double elimination bracket.
Questions and answers
How many games does a bracket need?
Single elimination needs one game fewer than it has teams, so 12 teams play 11. Double elimination needs twice the teams minus two, or minus one when the final is replayed: 22 or 23 games for 12 teams.
Who gets a bye?
The top seeds. The sheet is filled up to 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 lines, and each empty line is a bye. With 5 teams the sheet has 8 lines, so Seeds 1, 2 and 3 wait while Seeds 4 and 5 play.
Does it work as a cornhole or ping pong tournament bracket?
Yes. A cornhole tournament bracket, a ping pong tournament bracket, a cribbage tournament bracket and a rock paper scissors tournament bracket are the same sheet: type players or pairs as teams. There is no third-place game.
