How it works
A 24 team round robin tournament runs to 276 games: 23 rounds of twelve, each team meeting the other 23 once. On twelve courts the example's 15-minute games run 9:00 to 2:45 pm. For a 24 person round robin tournament, enter players instead.

Pools of 12, 8, 6, 4 or 3
Twenty-four divides evenly more ways than any smaller field. Two pools of 12 play 132 games; three pools of 8 play 84; four of 6, 60; six of 4, 36; eight of 3, 24. Four pools of six give each team five games, and the top two of each pool fill an 8 team bracket.
Twelve courts at once, or a 23-week season
A round is twelve games, so only twelve courts play it in one slot: 23 slots, finished at 2:45. On six to eleven courts each round needs two slots and the day ends at 8:30 pm. Five courts or fewer push the last game past midnight, so a league plays one round a week instead.
- A double round robin for 24 is 46 rounds and 552 games; twelve courts still finish it by 8:30 pm.
Questions and answers
If 24 players are entered in a round robin tournament, how many matches will be played?
276. Each of the 24 players meets the other 23, and one match covers two of them, so the count is 24 × 23 ÷ 2. For any number of entrants n, it is n × (n − 1) ÷ 2.
Does a 24 person round robin tournament use the same schedule?
Yes. Enter 24 people in place of the teams and each plays the other 23. With twelve tables, boards or lanes everyone plays in every slot. The page keeps the word teams.
Can I schedule more than 24 teams here?
No. A schedule here holds 24 names, and any extra are kept and listed as not on it. For 25 or more, split the field into pools and print each pool from its own size page.
