Double Round Robin Generator: results grid

How it works

This double round robin generator pairs every team with every other twice and swaps the listed sides for the return game. The sample chart shows four teams on two courts: 6 rounds, 12 games. Your own teams replace the samples.

Make your own chart

1. Type or paste 2 to 24 names in the Your teams box, one per line. 2. Set Courts or pitches, First match starts and Minutes per match. 3. Press Make schedule, then Print or Copy.

What the second meeting changes

The second half is the first half again with every pair reversed: the team listed first in one meeting is listed second in the other, so each team ends level on both sides. From four teams up, the return games do not restart at Round 1: with four, Rounds 4, 5 and 6 return Rounds 2, 3 and 1, and no team is listed on the same side more than twice running.

Tips
  • An odd field has one bye a round, so over a double every team sits out twice.

Questions and answers

What is a double round robin?

A round robin in which every team plays every other team twice. Many soccer leagues run one, each pair meeting once at home and once away. It takes twice the games of a single: four teams play 12, six play 30, eight play 56.

How many games are in a 4 teams double round robin?

Twelve games in six rounds, two games a round, and each team plays six times. On two courts that is six time slots; on one court, twelve. This page opens on that size.

How many rounds does a double round robin take?

Twice the single count. An even field plays two rounds fewer than twice its size, so ten teams take 18. An odd field plays twice its size, so eleven teams take 22. The list under the tool gives every size from 2 to 24.

Which team is at home in each meeting?

The team listed first, if your league uses home and away. Each pair is listed one way round in the first half and the other way round in the second, so every team is listed first exactly as often as second.

Can I make a single round robin here?

Yes. Open More options and choose Once (single). The round robin generator opens on a single chart and lists pool splits for 6 to 24 teams.

How this list was compiled: Counted by Wheel of Teams with the scheduler the tool on this page runs. For each size from 2 to 24 a script built the double schedule and counted its rounds, its games, each team's games on either side and its byes, the time slots on one to four courts (a round never starts before the one before it ends), and which first-half round each return round repeats. It also confirmed, for every size, that each pair meets exactly once each way round and that no team is listed on the same side more than twice running. What a double round robin is, the round and game formulas of a single one (an even field of n plays n - 1 rounds, an odd field n rounds with one bye a round, n x (n - 1) / 2 games) and the home and away reading of the two listed sides were checked on 2026-10-01 against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round-robin_tournament.
