A list of 116 lacrosse tournament names written by Wheel of Teams on 2026-10-14 and filed in five groups. They are our own suggestions. Every name carries a word of the game (the stick or crosse, the crease, a face-off, a scoop, the pocket, a cradle, the middies, the box, sixes) and names the event, not a team. The terms were looked up on 2026-10-14 in the English Wikipedia's articles Lacrosse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacrosse), Field lacrosse, Box lacrosse and Women's lacrosse, text under CC BY-SA 4.0. No name was taken from a league, a club, a college event, a sponsor or a maker of sticks. Each name was also looked up in the English Wikipedia on 2026-10-14, as an article title and as an exact phrase in the text of its articles, and every name that stood there as an event, a trophy, a programme or a title was dropped; that look-up does not find a local event. Compared by script the same day with every other list on this site: no name is repeated. Nothing was checked against a trademark register, so a local tournament may share a name by coincidence. How it works
These 116 lacrosse tournament names are built on the game's own words: the stick, the crease, a face-off, a cradle. Each names the event, not a team, and no league, club or stick maker is in one.

The lacrosse in the names
The crosse is the stick: a French missionary who watched the game in 1637 called it la crosse. The crease is the circle round each goal. Men's games start with a face-off, the women's game with a draw. Box lacrosse puts five runners and a goalie on a rink with the ice out.
