How this list was compiled: The layout is our own work: a row for each turn of three darts, a column for each player, the points scored added up and a Left row worked out as the start number less the points scored. Checked on 2026-10-05 against the English Wikipedia article Darts (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darts): games of 301 and 501 counted down to zero, with 701 or 1001 for two teams under the same rules; the winning dart in a double or the bullseye; going bust (below zero, exactly one, or zero without a double) and the score reset to the start of the turn; a game finished on any of the three darts; the highest turn of 180; the outer bull worth 25 and the inner bull 50, counting as a double for finishing; a dart that does not stay in the board not scoring; nine darts as the fewest for 501 and the 141 finish; the highest finish of 170; the finishes 138, 141, 167 and 170 as written there; the 20 double called double top; the cupboard doors with chalkboards used as a scoreboard. The finishes in the key were worked out by our own script on the same day (every way to end on a double or the inner bull with at most three darts) and the ones the article gives agree with it; the script also finds that 159, 162, 163, 165, 166, 168 and 169 have no finish. No maker, board, league, event or player is named. Licence: own work

How it works

This dart scoreboard counts down a game of 501, 301 or 701. Type each turn of three darts and it adds the points scored and shows what is left. Use it as a digital dart scoreboard on a screen, or print it.

Score a turn

Type the names under Player 1 and Player 2. After each turn, type the total of the three darts in the next Turn box, 0 to 180. Scored adds the turns and Left shows what still has to come off. A bust is typed as 0.

301, 701 and paper

The page opens as a darts 501 scoreboard. Pick 301 for a 301 darts scoreboard or 701 for two teams: the rows stay the same and only the start number changes. Print blank sheet prints the open sheet with its key of finishes.

  • Left below 0, or on 1, means the last turn was a bust: change that turn to 0.
  • The sheet does not check that the last dart was a double. The players do.

Questions and answers

How do you use a dart scoreboard?

Write each player's start number, 501 or 301, at the top. After every turn of three darts, take the turn's total off and write what is left. On this page you type the turn and the Left row does the subtraction.

How do you keep score in 501 darts?

Each player starts on 501 and takes the total of every three-dart turn off it. The first to reach exactly 0 wins, and the last dart must land in a double or the bullseye.

What is a bust in darts?

A turn that takes the score below 0, to exactly 1, or to 0 without a double. The turn scores nothing, and the score goes back to what it was before the turn.

Is there a dart scoreboard app to install?

Not here, and none is needed. This darts score keeper online runs in the browser of a phone, tablet or computer: open the page next to the board and type the turns.

What is the highest finish in darts?

170: triple 20, triple 20 and the inner bull. The key of the 501 sheet lists more finishes, and it notes that 159, 162, 163, 165, 166, 168 and 169 cannot be finished in three darts.
