    Group Name of the day

    How it works

Press New group name and three parts follow The: an opener, fierce, weathered or wry, an emblem of iron, storm or a beast, and a band such as Barbarian Horde, Hill Clan or Warband.

Name the horde after your homeland or chieftain

Type it in Your homeland or chieftain, Hargrund for one, and it stands where the emblem was: The Unconquered Hargrund Warband. Lock a part and only the others change. Print 30 group names puts a sheet in front of the table.

    Invented, not history

Every name here is made up for stories and games; none belongs to a people of history. Barbarian began as a word for a foreigner: Wikipedia’s article says ancient Greece used it for non-Greeks and the Roman world for peoples outside the empire.

    Questions and answers

What are some good barbarian group names?

The Unconquered Cave Lion Warband, The Frost-Crusted Thunderstorm Barbarian Horde, The Oath-Sworn Bog Iron Hill Clan and The Bellowing Mastodon Shield-Sisters. Each is one opener, one emblem and one band from the lists on this page.

What are the names of barbarian groups in history?

Wikipedia’s article on the Migration Period, about 300 to 600 AD and also known as the Barbarian Invasions, names the Burgundians, Vandals, Goths, Alemanni, Alans, Huns, early Slavs, Pannonian Avars, Bulgars and Magyars.

Can the barbarian group name generator make funny names?

Yes. A wry opener and an unlikely band do it: The Surprisingly Polite Cook Pot Wrestling Team, The Easily Offended Snowdrift Shouting Choir and The Indoor-Voiced Wild Goat Anger Management Group.
