How it works
This pool score sheet template records an eight-ball or nine-ball match rack by rack: a numbered row for each rack, a column for each player or team and the racks won so far. It prints blank for the table.

Score a match
Type the two names under Player 1 and Player 2. When a rack ends, type a 1 or an x in the winner's box of that row and leave the other box empty. The number under the mark is that player's racks so far. The first to 5 wins.
Longer races and tournaments
Race to 7 and Race to 9 are the same sheet with more racks. For an 8-ball or billiards tournament, or a league night, print one blank sheet for each match as its score card and write the names on it.
Playing a race to 3, 4 or 6? Use the next longer sheet and stop at your number.
In doubles, both partners' names go in one box.
Questions and answers
How do you keep score in pool?
In a standard eight-ball or nine-ball match each rack is won or lost, and the match score is the racks each player has won. The first to the agreed number wins. Leagues publish rule sets of their own, which this sheet does not copy.
What does race to 5 mean in pool?
The first player to win five racks wins the match. At four racks each, the ninth rack decides it, so that sheet has nine rows.
How do you win a rack of 8-ball?
Pocket all seven balls of your group, solids or stripes, then the 8 ball in the pocket you called. An 8 ball pocketed in another pocket, with a foul or knocked off the table loses the rack.
How do you win a rack of 9-ball?
Pocket the 9 ball. The cue ball must first hit the lowest-numbered ball on the table on every shot, but the 9 can drop at any time, even on the break, and that wins the rack.
Is there a score sheet for an 8 ball tournament?
Yes: print this one blank, a sheet for each match, and write the two names at the top. The racks won on each sheet are the result that goes on the bracket.
