Scoring key

A match is two halves of 45 minutes
A competition may set shorter halves in its own rules, as youth games do.
Equal goals is a drawn match
Unless the competition needs a winner.
Extra time is two more periods
Of up to 15 minutes each. Type their goals as one number.
A shoot-out comes after the match
Five kicks each, then one each until a team leads. Its goals stay out of the final score.
One line a goal
The minute and the shirt number, in the scoring team's column.
Yellow is a caution, red a send-off
A second caution in the same match is a send-off: list that number in both rows.

Names and scores stay in this browser. New match clears the scores.

What you type 6

  • Cautions by shirt number The shirt numbers of the players shown a yellow card, with the minute if you keep it.
  • Final score of the soccer match Both halves and extra time added for each team. Shoot-out kicks are left out of it.
  • Goal: minute and shirt number A line for each goal, in the column of the team that scored: the minute and the scorer's shirt number, as in 23 No. 9.
  • Goals in a half or in extra time One number for each team: the goals it scored in that half. Both periods of extra time go in the one Extra time row. A half with no goal is a 0.
  • Send-offs by shirt number The shirt numbers of the players shown a red card.
  • Shoot-out kicks scored The kicks each team scored in a penalty shoot-out. It stands under the final score and is never added to it.

How it works

A soccer score sheet, on a phone or a clipboard: both teams' goals by half and in extra time, the shoot-out kept apart from the score, a line for each goal, and the shirt numbers of cautions and send-offs.

Keep a match

Type the team names under Home and Away. At half-time type each team's goals in 1st half, a 0 included; at full time do the same in 2nd half, and the final score adds itself. Each goal gets a line in the scoring team's column: the minute and the shirt number.

Extra time and a shoot-out

When a knockout match is level, both periods of extra time go in Extra time as one number. Shoot-out kicks have their own row under the final score: they come after the match has ended and are never added to it.

Questions and answers

Is there a printable soccer score sheet PDF?

Yes. The blank sheet prints from the main button, and Save as PDF in the print window keeps it as a file: one page of US Letter or A4, with the notes on extra time and cards under the sheet.

Can I use it as a soccer score sheet template?

Yes. Type your team names under Home and Away once: clearing the scores for a new match keeps them, and goal lines can be added or taken off before you print.

How do you record a penalty shoot-out on a score sheet?

Type the kicks each team scored in Shoot-out. Each team takes five kicks, then one each until one team leads. The final score above it still shows the match as a draw.

Does the score sheet work for youth soccer?

Yes. A full match is two halves of 45 minutes, and a youth competition may play shorter halves under its own rules. The sheet records goals by half whatever the length.
