    Group Name of the day

    How it works

Press New group name and three parts follow The: an opener, grand or funny, an emblem from the night sky, the garden, the candle shelf or an old house, and a house word such as Court, Coven or Brood.

Name the house after your city or family

Type it in Your city or family name, for example Ashgrove, and it stands where the emblem was: The Sunless Ashgrove Court. Keep a part with its lock and press for the rest. Print 30 group names puts a sheet in front of the table.

    Grand or funny

Grand openers suit a serious story: Most Ancient, Nightbound, Thousand-Year. Funny ones suit a comedy game: Heavily Sunscreened, Garlic-Averse, Unfashionably Late. House words run the same way, from Court, Dominion and Elder Council to Knitting Circle and Debating Society. No blood, bite or grave word is on any list.

    Tips
    • A funny opener beside a grand house word lands best: The Heavily Sunscreened Candelabra Dominion.

    Questions and answers

What is a group of vampires called?

Coven is the dictionary's word. Wiktionary, read October 3, 2026, gives it the sense of a family, group or assembly of vampires in fantasy fiction. One published tabletop game sorts its vampires into clans and sects instead, so no single word is official.

What are some group names for vampires?

The Sunless Moonflower Court, The Most Ancient Tower Raven Coven, The Nightbound Candelabra Brood and, for a comedy game, The Garlic-Averse Looking Glass Knitting Circle. Each is one opener, one emblem and one house word from the lists on this page.

Are the names taken from a vampire book, game or show?

No. The lists are our own. No pair of neighboring parts appears in ten Wikipedia articles on vampire fiction, games, films and series, read October 3, 2026. Entries that matched a title or a named group there were taken out.
