    Group Name of the day

    How it works

Press New group name and three parts follow The: an hour, a kind of weather or a quiet adjective, an object a spellcaster keeps on a shelf, and a circle word from Witches to Lyceum.

Lead with your circle's tower or town

Type it in Your circle's tower or town, for example Thornwick, and every name opens with it: The Thornwick Inkpot Witches. Tap a part, then its padlock, to keep it; the next press changes the other two. Print 30 group names gives the table a sheet to vote on.

Witch group names and magic group names

For witch group names, lock Witches, Hedge Witches, Kitchen Witches or Village Coven: The Small-Hours Broomstick Hedge Witches. For a school of mages, lock Lyceum, Spellwrights or Evening Class. Funny magic group names open with Mislabeled, Belated or Tea-Stained, as in The Belated Grimoire Evening Class.

    Questions and answers

What are some good names for magic groups?

The Ashen Sandglass Spellwrights, The Unwritten Tide Table Conjurers, The Half-Remembered Almanac Diviners and The Windward Sundial Enchanters. Each is one opener, one spellcraft object and one circle word from the three lists on this page.

Are these the names of magical groups from a book, a film or a game?

No. The lists are our own. On October 4, 2026 a script compared every name they can spell with the names linked on six Wikipedia pages about magical organizations, covens and secret societies and found none. A table somewhere may still use a result.

Does it give the names of witch groups or names of magic groups from real life?

No. No real coven, order, religion or occult society is on the lists, and no rite is described. A coven, says Wikipedia's Coven article, is a group or gathering of witches; here the word is one part of an invented name.
