13 Team Round Robin Schedule: how it works
A 13 team round robin is 78 games: each team plays the other 12 once. An odd field leaves one team idle each round, so it runs 13 rounds of six games, one bye per team. The example uses three courts and 20-minute games from 8:00, ending at 4:40 pm. Type in your teams, then print.
78 games on 3, 4, 5 or 6 courts
Six games a round fit three courts in two slots, so the example runs 26 slots to 4:40 pm. A fourth or fifth court ends the day no sooner: six games still need two slots. Only the sixth court counts: a whole round at once, 13 slots, done at 12:20 pm. Two courts run to 9:00 pm. One court needs 26 hours: a league, not a day.

Untick Random draw, press Make schedule, and your typing order decides the sit-outs. Lines 1 to 13 rest in rounds 1, 7, 13, 6, 12, 5, 11, 4, 10, 3, 9, 2 and 8. Give line 1 to the team with the longest drive: on three courts its first game is at 9:00. In a league, rounds are weeks, so a club that cannot field a side in week 9 goes on line 11.
Tips
- On three courts, seven teams are off court in every slot, six between games and one on its bye: your referees and scorers.
- On three courts no team plays more than two games back to back or waits longer than 80 minutes, whatever the draw. On six, the bye is the only break in 12 games.
- A double round robin is 156 games in 26 rounds: on six courts, the same 8:00 to 4:40 day the single takes on three.

How many games does each team play in a 13 team round robin?
Twelve, one against each other team. Across the field that is 78: 13 teams times 12 opponents makes 156, and every game is counted from both sides, so halve it.
Can a 13 team round robin tournament finish in one day?
Six courts and 20-minute games make a 4 hour 20 minute day, but every team plays 12 games with one break. With fewer courts, split into pools of 7 and 6: 21 plus 15 games, 36 instead of 78, and nobody plays fewer than five.
How do I fit 13 rounds into fewer than 13 weeks?
Play two rounds a night: 13 rounds fit seven nights, six doubleheaders and one single round. If the season stops short, say after round 10, three teams will have played 10 games and ten teams only 9, so rank by win percentage, not wins.
