Schools, nicknames, basketball conferences and the tournament line on each team (the last year it played in the national tournament, and any national titles) come from the table at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Division_I_men's_basketball_programs (raw wikitext, 365 rows, affiliations for 2026–27). The table was first taken on 2026-09-18 and was read again in full on 2026-09-20: all 365 conferences, last tournament years and title years on this page match the table as it stood that day. The 68 teams it marks for 2026 are the same 68 as at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_NCAA_Division_I_men's_basketball_tournament, and every title year matches en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Division_I_men's_basketball_champions. Appearances and titles that were later vacated are not counted. Campus cities come from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Division_I_institutions (read 2026-09-18), which agrees with the first list on every school's conference. The membership of every conference was checked on 2026-09-18 against ESPN's 2026–27 conference lists (espn.com/mens-college-basketball/teams and the matching data at sports.core.api.espn.com, 365 teams in the same 32 conferences). The two agree on 364 teams. ESPN still showed Louisiana Tech in Conference USA; the Sun Belt's own release of 1 July 2026 (sunbeltsports.org/news/2026/7/1/general-sun-belt-officially-welcomes-louisiana-tech.aspx) and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Belt_Conference both place it in the Sun Belt, so it is listed there. The conference long known as the MAAC renamed itself the Metro Conference on 1 July 2026, and the WAC continues as the United Athletic Conference (UAC); both were read again on 2026-09-20 at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_Conference and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Athletic_Conference. Conference moves in the detail lines come from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021–2026_NCAA_conference_realignment, read again on 2026-09-20, and match the change between ESPN's 2025–26 and 2026–27 lists. The Pac-12's nine members were also read at pac-12.com. ncaa.com's own standings page, themw.com and themetro.org returned no team names to the checker, so the association's site was not used. 'Campus in' is the school's location as the Wikipedia table gives it; some teams play home games in a nearby city, so it is not called an arena location. Arena names, season records, rankings, colors and mascots are left out on purpose. Basketball conference can differ from football conference. Names are plain text used to describe the wheel; no logos, colors or artwork are used. Conference membership changes most summers, so the list is re-checked every August, and the tournament lines every April.         One conference on the college basketball team wheel

        Open Show only and choose a conference: the wheel holds only its teams, from 8 in the Ivy League to 18 in the ACC and the Big Ten. Groups follow basketball membership, so Notre Dame sits in the ACC and UConn in the Big East. Two leagues changed names in July 2026: the MAAC is now the Metro Conference and the WAC the UAC.

        Does this wheel have every Division I team?

        Yes. As a random NCAA basketball team generator it is complete: all 365 men's programs of 2026–27, in 32 conferences. The wheel draws 24 names at a time and picks from all 365. Women's teams are not on it.

        Is every school equally likely on the random college basketball team wheel?

        Yes. With All on, each school has a 1 in 365 chance, whichever 24 names the wheel shows. The ACC and the Big Ten come up most only because they have 18 teams each. Inside the Big East it is 1 in 11.

        Does the wheel include the 2026 conference moves?

        Yes. The Pac-12 has nine teams: Gonzaga, Texas State and five former Mountain West schools beside Oregon State and Washington State. Hawaii, UC Davis and UTEP moved to the Mountain West. This NCAA basketball wheel follows basketball membership; football's is on the college football wheel.
