Full members or associates: what each chip leaves
Full members leaves 12 sides, the only ones allowed to play Tests, the five-day game. Ten were in by 2000; Afghanistan and Ireland were elected together in 2017. Associates with one-day status leaves eight sides that hold it for one qualifying cycle, so that chip is the one that changes.
Where the 20 sides come from
Each result opens with the side's region. Asia has eight of the 20, Europe four, Africa and the Americas three each, and East Asia-Pacific two: Australia and New Zealand. Three names are more than one country: England's side also represents Wales, Ireland's covers the whole island, and West Indies draws on 15 Caribbean countries and territories.
Tips
Only full members play Tests. An associate plays one-day and Twenty20 internationals; every member side has held Twenty20 status since 2019.
Women's one-day status goes to all 12 full members plus five associates: Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.

The sport's governing council counted 111 members in July 2026: 12 full members and 99 associates. Only 20 hold one-day international status, the 12 full members and eight of the associates, and those 20 are the sides on this wheel.
