Random MLB Team Picker: Spin All 30 Teams: how it works
This random MLB team picker is a wheel with all 30 clubs of the 2026 season on it, 15 from each league, one of them listed with no city at all: the Athletics. Spin and one club comes up, each with a 1 in 30 chance. Narrow it to the American League, the National League or one division of five.

One case for a random MLB team generator is an MLB The Show wheel spin: a new franchise save in the baseball video game, played with whichever club comes up. Another is a team to follow from opening day. Age carries no weight: the Atlanta Braves' franchise dates from 1871, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Rays from 1998.
Two leagues, six divisions of five
American League or National League leaves 15 clubs. A division chip leaves five, for example the AL Central: Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins. The 15 and 15 split dates from 2013, when the Houston Astros switched leagues; from 1998 to 2012 it was 14 American League clubs and 16 National. Division rivals meet 13 times a season.
Tips
Read the detail line before you book a trip: the Atlanta Braves play in Cumberland, Georgia, the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim and the Texas Rangers in Arlington.
Planning several stops? Switch to Elimination and spin once per stop, so the route never sends you to the same ballpark twice.
Shared cities make a short wheel: in My list, type both New York clubs, both Chicago clubs, the Dodgers and the Angels.
Questions and answers
How old are the clubs on the wheel?
The Chicago Cubs were founded in 1870 and the Atlanta Braves' franchise dates from 1871, in Boston; both were in the National League for its first season in 1876. Seven of today's American League clubs date from 1901. The newest are the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Rays, from 1998.
Why is one team listed only as Athletics?
That is how the league lists it. The club left Oakland after the 2024 season and plays in West Sacramento while a ballpark is built in Las Vegas, with no city in its name. All 30 names were checked against mlb.com/team and the league's Wikipedia article on 18 September 2026.
Does the wheel cover the minor leagues or teams abroad?
No. It holds the 30 major league clubs only, one of them in Canada: the Toronto Blue Jays. For a baseball team wheel of minor league, college or overseas clubs, tap My list and type one per line. For your own nine, the baseball lineup generator sets a batting order and fielding positions.

How this list was compiled: All 30 clubs of Major League Baseball for the 2026 season, 15 in the American League and 15 in the National League, with the division each one plays in. Team names, leagues, divisions, home cities and founding years were checked on 2026-09-18 against the teams table at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball, and the 30 names and six divisions were checked the same day against the league's own list at mlb.com/team. 'Plays in' is the municipality of the home ballpark as that table gives it, which is why the Atlanta Braves show Cumberland, Georgia and the Los Angeles Angels show Anaheim. The Athletics are listed without a city because that is how the league lists them while they play in West Sacramento. Moves and league switches come from the history section of the same article. Names are plain text used to describe the wheel; no logos, colors or artwork are used. The list is re-checked before each season.
