Five byes, one quarterfinal that waits for nothing
Five of 16 lines are empty, beside Seeds 1 to 5. Seeds 1, 3 and 2 each wait for an opening-round winner: from 8 v 9, 6 v 11 and 7 v 10. Game 5, Seed 4 against Seed 5, is the one quarterfinal with two fresh teams. The top five need three wins for the title, Seeds 6 to 11 four.
Courts and slots
One court needs 10 slots, two courts 6, three courts 5 and four courts 4. On four courts, Game 5 goes in the first slot with the three opening games, and the other three quarterfinals fill the second.
Tips
- In an 11 team playoff bracket the cut is between fifth and sixth: Seed 6 plays an extra game.
Questions and answers
How many games are in an 11 team bracket?
Ten. Games 1 to 3 are the opening round, Games 4 to 7 the quarterfinals, Games 8 and 9 the semifinals and Game 10 the final. An 11 team double elimination bracket takes 20 or 21, an 11 team round robin 55.
Who gets a bye in an 11 team tournament bracket?
Seeds 1 to 5. The other six play in round one, and at least four teams play just once: the losers of Games 1, 2, 3 and 5.
Can singles use it as an 11 man bracket?
Yes. With one player on each line it is an 11 person bracket for darts, cornhole or table tennis: ten matches. With no rankings, type the names and press Random draw: five of the eleven land on a bye.
What if one team drops out, or a twelfth enters?
Set the Teams box to 10 or 12; for a dropout, delete its line in Your teams first. With ten, Seed 6 has a bye and meets Seed 3 directly. With twelve, Seed 5 plays Seed 12 and the winner meets Seed 4.
