A pitching sheet for the same game
Pitching: 6 stats gives each pitcher a line, six to start, with boxes for IP, H, R, ER, BB and SO. One copy of each sheet covers one team for one game.
Fill the sheet in from the scorebook after the last out. Keeping both during play is how an at bat gets missed.
Keep a season's copies in one binder, then total each column on a fresh sheet when the season ends.
Questions and answers
What do the abbreviations on a baseball stat sheet mean?
AB is at bats, R runs, H hits, 2B doubles, 3B triples, HR home runs, RBI runs batted in, BB walks, SO strikeouts and SB stolen bases. On the pitching sheet IP is innings pitched and ER earned runs.
Does it work as a softball stats sheet?
Yes. No box names a sport, and the printed title reads Stats with blanks for the two teams and the date. As a softball stat sheet, printable on one page, it suits fastpitch and slow-pitch alike.
Are these printable baseball stat sheets free?
Yes, both of them. The print button puts the open sheet on one page of US Letter or A4 with its notes underneath, and Save as PDF in the print window keeps a file.
Does the stat sheet work out averages?
No. Every box is a blank to write in, and the notes under each sheet give the sums for AVG and ERA. For a play-by-play record of the game, print the blank baseball scorecard.
At batsAB: trips to the plate that do not end in a walk, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice, interference or obstruction.
Doubles2B: hits that put the batter safely on second base.
HitsH: times the batter reached base on a fair ball with no error by the defense.
Home runsHR: hits on which the batter touched all four bases with no fielding error.

Runs batted inRBI: runners who scored because of what the batter did. None is credited when the batter grounds into a double play or reaches on an error.
Stolen basesSB: bases the runner took while the defense held the ball.
StrikeoutsSO: third strikes against the batter, whether taken, swung at and missed, or bunted foul. Many scorers write K.
Triples3B: hits that put the batter safely on third base.
WalksBB: bases on balls. Four pitches outside the strike zone that the batter let go, and first base is awarded.

How to keep the sheet 7
A double goes in two boxesH holds every hit. Mark a double, a triple or a home run in H and again in its own box.
AVG is H divided by ABBatting average: 3 hits in 10 at bats is .300. A walk adds nothing to AB, so it never lowers the average.
Earned or not?A run that scored because of an error or a passed ball goes in R and stays out of ER.
ERA is ER times 9, divided by IPEarned run average: 2 earned runs in 6 innings is 3.00. Turn .1 and .2 into thirds before you divide.
IP counts outs in thirdsOne out is a third of an inning. Four innings and one out is written 4.1, and with two outs 4.2.
One game, or one player’s seasonPrint a copy for each game. To follow one player, write the date of a game on each line where the name goes.
Slow-pitch softballSlow-pitch sees few strikeouts and some leagues bar stealing, so SO and SB may stay empty.
How this list was compiled: The layout is our own work: one line a player and a plain box for each stat, on a batting sheet of ten stats and a pitching sheet of six. Checked on 2026-10-07 against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_statistics (last edited 4 July 2026): what AB, R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, BB, SO (also written K) and SB stand for and how each is counted; batting average (BA or AVG) as hits divided by at bats; IP, ER and ERA; hits allowed. The pitching line of innings pitched, hits, runs, earned runs, walks and strikeouts against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box_score_(baseball) (last edited 11 July 2026). Innings pitched in thirds, written 34.1 and 72.2, against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innings_pitched (last edited 17 July 2026); earned run average as earned runs divided by innings pitched and multiplied by nine, with runs from errors and passed balls left out, against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earned_run_average (last edited 7 July 2026); that strikeouts are rare in slow-pitch softball and that some leagues prohibit stealing, against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Softball (last edited 16 September 2026). The sheet adds nothing up and states no record, no league rule and no player. Licence: The layout, the choice of columns and the notes are own work.
