Winning a game 3

A game is played to 21 Every rally scores a point for the side that wins it.
At 20 all, a side must lead by two The game goes on until it does: 22 to 20, 24 to 22.
At 29 all, the next point wins So 30 is the most a side can score in a game. The sheet marks a higher number.

The match 3

A match is best of three games The side that wins two takes the match. Mark each game for the side that won it.
Change ends after every game In a third game, also when the leading score reaches 11.
The winner of a game serves first in the next In doubles the pair chooses which of them serves.

This badminton score sheet records a match of three games to 21: both sides' points for each game, a mark for the side that won it and the games won added. It prints blank for the side of the court.

Score a match

Type the players' names under Side 1 and Side 2. When a game ends, type each side's points in Game 1, then a 1 or an x in Won game 1 for the side that took it. Games 2 and 3 go the same way.

A match won in two games leaves the Game 3 rows empty.

Questions and answers

How do you score a badminton match?

Every rally scores a point for the side that wins it. The first side to 21 takes the game, and the first side to win two games takes the match.

What happens at 20-20 in badminton?

The game goes on until one side leads by two points, such as 24 to 22. If it reaches 29 all, the side that scores the 30th point wins the game.

Does the score sheet work for doubles?

Yes. Doubles is scored the same way as singles, to 21 over the best of three games. Type both partners' names in the box of their side.

When do players change ends in badminton?

At the start of the second game. If a third game is played, they change at its start and again when the leading score reaches 11.
