Scoring key

A regulation game is seven innings
Or 55 minutes at most. Play fewer innings for a shorter game.
Away kicks first, Home kicks last
In every inning.
Three outs end a half inning
Three strikes are an out, and so are three fouls.
A tied game can stand
Under the association rules a game level after the last inning is marked a tie. If Home leads going into its last turn to kick, the game is over.
Every player is on the written kicking order
Captains swap their lineups before the first pitch.

Names and scores stay in this browser. New game clears the scores.

How it works

This kickball score sheet keeps a game inning by inning: the runs of the Away and Home teams, the score so far and the final score. Each team's kicking order goes underneath, and the sheet prints blank for the field.

Score an inning

Type the team names under Away and Home. When a half inning ends, type that team's runs in the inning's row; a half with no run is a 0.

Write the kicking order

Type a name on each Kicker line, in the order the team kicks.

  • Playing fewer than seven innings? The cross at the end of a row takes that inning off the sheet and off the paper.

Questions and answers

How do you keep score in kickball?

Count a run each time a runner gets round the bases to home, and write each team's runs for the inning in that inning's row. The team with more runs after the last inning wins.

How many innings are in a kickball game?

Seven in a regulation game under the adult association rules, or no more than 55 minutes. Play fewer innings for a shorter game.

Who kicks first in kickball?

The Away team kicks first in every inning and the Home team kicks last. If Home is ahead when its last turn to kick comes, the game is over.

How many players are on a kickball team?

A team fields eight to ten players, a pitcher and a catcher among them. Every player taking part is on the written kicking order, which the captains swap before play.

Can a kickball game end in a tie?

Under the adult association rules, yes: a game that is level after the last inning is marked as a tie. To play a tie off instead, add an inning to the sheet.
